Merry (Late) Christmas everyone! We have been soaking up the sun and enjoying the surf over here in Samui, just taking each day nice and slowly. Christmas was a low key affair – we made up a nice spread with cheese, salami and other things we don’t get to enjoy very often anymore, and then wandered around the beach watching the fireworks for a while.The only real news of sorts is that Kate and I are in the process of applying to teach English in South Korea next year. Not sure what our chances are just yet of actually being offered a position, but we are giving the application process our best shot.
We aren’t doing anything too fascinating other than that, since they are taking up a bit of time since we have to put together so much paperwork before submitting them. We are just taking part in the usual distractions of Samui that we have always enjoyed, like the decent seafood and the wonderful beaches.
The amazing local curries and fresh salads are taking up a lot of our time and stomach space as well, not to mention our favorite little noodle soup place which has the best chili paste ever. Dont worry, we are doing more than eating; we also went for a walk across a kilometre or so of shallow water at low tide on our way to reaching a nearby island, just off the main beach. so beautiful, just being out in the middle of the ocean in the middle of the day.So this post is basically about saying Merry Christmas, as well as reminding you that we haven’t abandoned this poor little blog altogether, there just arent a whole lot of blog-worthy activities happening right now.
