Back in Transit... and Loving it!

God it feels good to be on the road again. Or I guess it would be more accurate to say that we are in the sky again. We left Sydney yesterday evening around 9:30 for a quick flight down to Melbourne, before boarding the airbus bound for Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia (just a thought, could a modern aircraft be given a less glamorous name? might as well call it the Flying Bucket Full of Flesh).

Mind you, before boarding the big-can-with-wings, we had the pleasure of waiting to check in, at the back of the only queue of people viewable from space. Amazing how many people wanted to get on a flight to KL at 1:30 in the morning. It paid off though, I found a $2 coin on the ground which we used to buy the last Aussie chocolate we are bound to have for a while - a Freddo Frog (they are aussie right? whatever anyway).

The best thing about the 8 hour flight to KL was the fact that our seats had USB ports built into them, intended for the USB headphones that you rent for the TV screens. But what it meant to little Katie and I was that we could just sit there and charge our respective MP3 player and Nintendo DS, and not worry about them dying during the flight. OK, so the little things impress me. Thats just me :)

So now we are in KL airport, waiting for our next flight to Bangkok, which leaves in a few hours. We are still having fun though, we have found some wireless internet (obviously) and we have also treated ourselves to a nice thick curry noodle soup for breakfast, with extra chilli. i knew those Malaysian Ringgits we brought back last time would come in handy eventually!
