What a crazy weekend it was. It was so crazy, that it has taken me until Friday to be able to put it into words.
Originally, the plan was to head down to Sydney town and spend some time with my family. That was called off when there was rumour of some potential swine flu in their direct vicinity, so we postponed the visit till a later date.
Seizing the now available Saturday morning opportunity, I dragged my big bin full of tin cans up to the local cash-a-can spot, where the elderly shyster running the gig told me that my 6kg worth of top grade aluminium was worth $3 to him.

He seemed pretty casual about the fact that I had spent untold hours collecting and crushing those precious tins in the hope of reinvesting the funds to buy a bigger bin or something, only now finding out that recycling is really only for chumps and vegans. Oh well, have to think of another get-rich-slow scheme now... watch this space.

So with my early retirement on hold for now, and the weekend all to ourselves, we decided to blow a chunk of our hard earned cash and buy a brand new Nintendo Wii, along with the Wii Balance Board attachment that you can do virtual aerobics and snowboarding and things while aboard it. Dont worry, we got some real games too, like Zelda and Mario Galaxy, both of which utterly rock. In fact, those are probably the two real reasons i havent done this post till now.
So that was last weekend. Good fun.

Oh, one last thing, last night Kate and I went out to the local big pub, called the Beachcomber, and got ourselves the $4 steak meal. It was crap. Even at the price, i felt ripped off. Couldnt recommend it to anyone, unless you enjoy eating cardboard made to look like meat. Great spot for a drink though, the view over Budgewoi Lake is incredible at sunset. Just make sure you eat something before you get there :)
till next time!
