yep, been pretty quiet on the australian front for the last little while. amazing how the time has been going by so fast. Dont get me wrong, we are still having a heap of fun, but nothing enormously blog-worthy has happened for a while.
This is just a quick post to update whats going on, sorry no photos this time.
Well, Katie is in Perth all week at a legal conference, where she will be presenting some information on the initial success of the Outreach program that she is running from the community legal centre at Wyong. From what Ive heard so far, there has been more play than work going on, and Kate has been catching up with some friends from the Everest Basecamp trek, who live in and around Perth. But I'm sure Kate will have something more detailed to say about her trip to Perth when she gets back, so I'll leave that post to her.
So what am I doing all week? working, watching way too many sci-fi and horror movies, and generally preparing more stuff for the next leg of the trip. Pretty boring, but im having fun.
Funny thing though, at the bottleshop where i work, about 50 x 5 litre casks were written off this week as part of a product recall. apparently they were 'overgassed' meaning that they were prone to explode, but apart from that they were as drinkable as you could expect a cask to be. Since im totally against waste, i offered them to one of the casuals at work as a present. He is a nice guy, but has no standards when it comes to drinking, and his little eyes lit up like fireworks at the offer. lucky he drives a minivan, since you need some space when you are trying to transport 250 litres of cheap booze all at once. My good deed for the day, ticked off for today.
apart from that, its business as usual over here at the moment. Ill let Katie fill you in on her adventures in Perth, but until then, have fun :)
